I Drew the Line… and Nothing Happened

We went to Topgolf last night.

It wasn’t something I would’ve done before.
Hit a few good shots early. Fell off after that. Didn’t matter.

We laughed. Stayed out late.
A normal night, for once.

Somewhere in between all of it, I checked my phone.

Her name again.

Same pattern.
Reach out.
Disappear.
Come back like nothing happened.

This morning, there were two messages.
Different platform, same energy.

Before, that would’ve pulled me right back in.
I would’ve answered fast.
Tried to figure it out.
Tried to make it work.

This time, I didn’t.

Not out of anger.
Not to prove a point.

I just drew a line.

I told her straight:
If you hesitate, then you don’t want this.
We’re not dragging this out.
It’s either now or nothing.

And then…

Nothing.

No response.
No explanation.
No follow-through.

And that told me everything I needed to know.

Because the truth is—
when someone wants to be there, they don’t hesitate.

They don’t disappear.
They don’t leave you guessing.

They show up.

So I didn’t chase it.
Didn’t send another message.
Didn’t try to fix it.

For the first time, I just let it be what it was.

And what it was…
was nothing.

Not dramatic.
Not loud.

Just clear.
