She Says I’m the Only One—But She Never Shows Up

She tells me I’m the only one.

She says she wants to be together.
Says she loves me.

And then I don’t hear from her all day.

I respond when she messages me.
I’m there. I follow through.

But she doesn’t.

And I don’t think this is new anymore.

I think this is just what it is.

I used to try to understand it.
Try to give it meaning.
Try to believe there was something real behind it.

Now I’m not so sure.

I’ve heard all the words before—
the promises, the plans, the “this time is different.”

But the pattern hasn’t changed.

It’s not about what she says anymore.
It’s about what she does—and what she doesn’t.

And what she doesn’t do is show up.

I don’t think I’m the only one she does this to.

And maybe that’s the hardest part to sit with.

Not that it’s confusing…
but that it’s becoming clear.

I haven’t fully let go.

But I’m not where I used to be either.

And maybe that’s what this looks like—
right before you finally do.
