The Ordinary Moments I Almost Missed

There are moments in life that never make headlines.

No grand announcements. No dramatic turning points. No life-changing phone calls.

Just little things.

The smell of clean air after wiping years of dust from an old vent.

A peaceful walk before sunrise.

A familiar smile and a simple “good morning.”

Legs that are sore because they are growing stronger again.

A trail that has become a friend.

A sunset that asks nothing from us except to slow down long enough to notice.

For years, I was often looking for the next big thing. The next answer. The next destination. The next chapter.

But lately, I have begun to notice something.

Life is not made up mostly of extraordinary moments.

It is made up of little wonders.

The kind that are easy to overlook.

The kind we almost miss because we are busy chasing something larger.

Peace has a way of revealing them.

And perhaps that is one of God’s greatest gifts—not that every day is remarkable, but that ordinary days contain remarkable things when we have eyes to see them.

Maybe happiness isn’t found in having more.

Maybe it is found in noticing more.

And perhaps some of the greatest blessings in life are not the things we have been searching for.

Perhaps they are the things we almost walked right past.
